These appeals involve the decisions of the Assistant Commissioner, acting for the Commissioner of Patents, refusing to accept affidavits of use filed by appellant under the provisions of section 8 of the Lan-ham Act (Trademark Act of 1946) in connection with Registrations Nos. 530,781 and 530,780, and ordering cancellation of said registrations. The registrations are for the words “Yankee” and “Clipper” respectively, while the specimens submitted with the affidavits show a sailing vessel, surrounded by a circular border bearing two stars and the words “Yankee Clipper Blended Whisky.” The…
