Rene Alfred executed a promissory note January 2, 1917, for $750, payable January 1, 1920; another for $1,-394.33 March 25, 1921, due December 1, 1921. He gave a special mortgage with vendor's privilege by authentic act, with the pact of non-alienation on a fifty-acre tract of land to secure the payment of the first note, and a special mortgage with the non alienando pact on the same property to secure the second note.

At his death, Rene Alfred left Joacinne Tisoneau Alfred, a surviving widow, Eddie and David, two major heirs, the mortgaged property and a few movable effects.
