A jury found appellant Erasmo Mata Jr. guilty of one count of sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony, and assessed punishment at four years’ imprisonment and a $5,000 fine.1 See Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 22.011(a)(2)(C), (f) (West, Westlaw through 2015 R.S.); id. § 22.011(c)(1) (defining “child” as “a person younger than 17 years of age”).
