BLODGETT, District Judge.

The facts in: this case appear to be that on and up to the 18th of December, 1872, the firm of Farns-worth, Brown & Co. were wholesale merchants in the city of Chicago, and in good-credit. They kept a bank account with the Commercial National Bank, of this city, and were in the practice of collecting bills against their country customers by drawing sight or time drafts which were indorsed to the bank and by the bank forwarded for collection to its correspondent nearest the residence of the drawee.
