Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Queens County (Katz, J.), rendered May 5, 2000, convicting him of murder in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The defendant’s contention that the Supreme Court committed reversible error by permitting the People to elicit evidence of his prior bad acts is without merit. The evidence was properly admitted as relevant background material to enable the jury to understand the defendant’s relationship with the victim, and as evidence of the defendant’s motive and intent…
