The plaintiff, Carpenter, who was not a real estate agent, and who was in the employ of the General Electric Company, was approached by the president (dwell) of the defendant company, which owned a factory, that it desired to sell, and was told by Olwell that if he would bring about a sale of it to the General Electric Company the defendant would pay him a commission of $5,000 for so doing.
