This action was commenced in the district court of Carter county by H. H. Sayre, defendant in error herein, against the city of Ard-more, plaintiff in error, to recover the sum of $1,500 .'alleged to be due him as one year's salary as city engineer of said city. On motion of plaintiff for judgment on the pleadings, the court rendered judgment against the city, and in favor of the plaintiff, for the full amount claimed.
