On February 8, 1936, the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Black Hawk County, Iowa, issued to plaintiff a fire policy in the amount of $2,000, covering a dwelling located upon real estate owned by plaintiff in Benton County, Iowa. The dwelling was totally destroyed by fire on January 15, 1938. Plaintiff claimed damages in the sum of $2,000, and interest, on account of such fire. He alleged that at the time of the fire the policy was in force, and further that he had complied with all of the terms and provisions thereof.
