MEMORANDUM OPINION
MERRITT S. DEITZ, Jr., Bankruptcy Judge.
This opinion ultimately reduces itself to the simple exercise of applying the rule of one case to the facts of another. But because we deal with an important new rule of law and vigorously disputed facts, our writing, while simple, will be necessarily thorough.
The law we apply is that declared in Long v. Calhoun, 1 a landmark 1988 opinion of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, dealing with the treatment of divorce issues in bankruptcy courts. The Calhoun rule is an elegant formulation, probably destined for citation as a seminal…
