for the Court:
¶ 1. In 2003, Armstrong Knight negotiate ed a plea deal to avoid a murder conviction and. the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison. He pled guilty to manslaughter, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon after a felony conviction. His combined sentences essentially operated as thirty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
