This is an appeal from an order of the District Court for the Western District of Virginia denying without a plenary hearing the petitioner’s application for a writ of habeas corpus.
The petition raises several issues, only one of which is pressed here: Is the petitioner, who has been confined in an institution for the criminally insane for more than seven years without an inquisition of lunacy or an adjudication of insanity, held in violation of the due process and equal protection clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States?
