1Opinion of the CourtJustice Lavin

In this appeal, we consider the postconviction petitions of three codefendants who complain that their sentences are unconstitutionally disparate to the sentence received by a fourth codefendant upon resentencing after his successful postconviction petition. Following an evidentiary hearing, the trial court denied the petitions filed by codefendants Victor Rodriguez, Omar Chaidez and Francisco Muniz for relief under the Post-Conviction Hearing Act (Act) (725 ILCS 5/122 — 1 et seq. (West 2000)). For reasons that will be detailed below, we affirm the dismissal of their petitions.
