Appeal from a judgment of the superior court for Thurs-ton county, Linn, L, entered Time 16, 1903, upon the verdict of a jury rendered in favor of the plaintiff.

The respondent, who was plaintiff below, brought this action to recover for personal injuries received by her, as she alleges, from a fall caused by a defect in the sidewalk of the appellant city. At the trial in the court below, a verdict was returned in her favor for the sum of $8,040, for which sum, together with the costs of the action, a judgment was entered against the city. This appeal is from that judgment.
