The plaintiff’s intestate was injured while engaged with others in taking down a piece of shafting in the defendant’s mill, and died soon afterwards from the injuries received. The piece of shafting was called a generator shaft, and was seventeen or eighteen feet long. It had upon it two pulleys, one near each end. One of these pulleys was sixty inches in diameter, with a face of fourteen or sixteen inches. The other was fifty inches in diameter, with a face of twenty-five or twenty-six inches.
