delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant, after being stopped by an officer monitoring a traffic radar unit, was cited for speeding and for driving while his license was suspended. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 95%, §§ 11 — 601(b) and 6 — 303(a), respectively.) After a bench trial, he was found guilty on both charges, fined $25 plus costs on the first and $100 plus costs on the second. A 7-day sentence in the county jail was imposed in accordance with the finding of guilt on the latter charge; sentence was suspended. Defendant appeals, claiming that it…
