(after stating the facts as above). [1] A chancery receiver is an indifferent person appointed by the court to hold property in litigation pending suit. He is a ministerial officer with the function of a custodian. He derives his authority from the court and not from the parties at whose instance he is appointed. He acts in behalf of no particular interest, but guards the rights of all.
