Appellant, Sweeny Community Hospital (“Sweeny”), sued appellee, Rodolfo Mendez, M.D., for breach of contract. Mendez countersued for breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference, defamation, and retaliation. Sweeny filed a plea to the jurisdiction contending that it was immune from suit for tortious interference, defamation, and retaliation.
