More than two years after she was evicted by summary process from her residence in Andover and her furniture and furnishings were put in storage, the plaintiff discovered the stored property had been sold at auction by the defendant, *209Rosengard Moving Systems, Inc. (Rosengard). She filed a complaint against Rosengard claiming conversion, violation of G. L. c. 93A, and negligent failure to notify her of the scheduled auction pursuant to G. L. c. 106, § 7-210, the warehouseman’s hen statute.1
