On February 28, 1980, the grand jury returned an indictment charging five corporations and several individuals with criminal violations of the antitrust law in a case denominated United States v. Deerfield Specialty Papers, Inc., et al., 501 F.Supp. 796 (E.D.Pa.1980). The case was assigned to Judge Hannum. On the heels of that indictment, on March 3, 1980, the first of seven civil actions, each directed against the five corporate defendants in the criminal case, was filed in this court.
