STREIT, Justice.

The United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa has certified one question of law to be answered by this court as provided in Iowa Code sections 684A.1 and 684A.3 (2001) and Iowa Rule of Appellate Procedure 6.451. The federal court stated this question involves the application of Iowa law in a pending federal action in which the claimant asserts a right to seek a deficiency judgment after filing a deed in lieu of foreclosure pursuant to a forbearance agreement.
