Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of first-degree felony murder, MCL 750.316(l)(b); MSA 28.548(l)(b), and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (felony-firearm), MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2).1 The Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s reversal of defendant’s convictions, agreeing that defendant had been denied the effective assistance of counsel. The Court of Appeals also found that the admission of testimony regarding statements made by defendant to a forensic psychologist in contemplation of interposing an insanity defense was error requiring reversal.…
