On this appeal, we are asked to determine whether Suffolk County can be held liable for damages resulting from the sexual assault of plaintiff by a worker at a County-owned facility where plaintiff took adult education classes. The worker, defendant Larry Smith, had been referred for a potential position with the lessee of the facility through the County’s “welfare to work” program.
