Most of the questions presented by this appeal are questions of fact, in respect to which there is a wide discrepancy between the testimony of the various witnesses. The evidence was taken orally in open court, thus affording the chancellor before whom the cause was heard the means of forming a correct judgment as to the credibility of the respective witnesses, and the weight to be given to their testimony, which an appellate court attempting to review the evidence with only such light as is afforded by the written record can not have.
