Khaleil Barton-Smith was tried by a Rockdale County jury and convicted of murder and other crimes in connection with the fatal shooting of Alexander Hunter. Barton-Smith appeals, contending that the trial court erred when it denied his request to charge the jury on voluntary manslaughter as a lesser offense and when it interrupted his lawyer’s cross-examination of a witness.
