On July 18, 1996, the State filed a bill of information charging the defendant-appellant Willie Gipson with one count of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. The defendant was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea on July 22, 1996. A motion hearing was held on November 8, 1996, at which time the trial court denied the motions to suppress the identification and evidence.
