Following a bench trial in November 1989, defendant, James W. McCrimmon, in cause No. 85—CF—836, was found guilty of keeping a gambling place (counts I, VI) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 28—3), gambling (count II) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 28—1(a)(3)), aggravated battery (count IV) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 12—4(b)(6)), and unlawful distribution of liquor without a license (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 43, par. 183).
