After a trial to a jury in the Superior Court, the defendant George F. Harris was convicted of aiding and assisting “in the recording of a bet on a horse race” in violation of G. L. 1956, §11-19-14, and of knowingly promoting a “Policy Lottery” in violation of §11-19-1. A motion for a new trial in each case was denied; sentence was thereafter imposed, and the defendant is now in this court prosecuting a bill of exceptions in each case.
