¶ 1. This appeal addresses the question of who, under the laws of Mississippi, may redeem property sold for taxes. In this case the person redeeming the property had obtained a default judgment against the original owner of the property. The chancery court found the redeemer’s interest in the land to be sufficient. The purchaser of the property at a tax sale appealed, and the Court of Appeals reversed and remanded, finding that the redeemer’s interest was not sufficient under Miss.Code Ann. § 27-45-3 (1995).
