Appellant Carlos Zambrano, along with co-defendants Abraham Linares and Romeo Hinojosa, was charged with second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and first degree aggravated kidnapping of Nestor Abundez. Zambrano was convicted of both counts and sentenced to fifteen years and twenty-five years confinement, respectively, and assessed a $10,000.00 fine in each cause.
