This matter was submitted after formal hearing on the writ of certiorari and mandamus directed to the judge of Division C, Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans.
The district judge maintained defendants’ plea to his jurisdiction, ratione materiae, and dismissed relators’ suit, holding that the forfeiture and collection of bail bonds given for the release and appearance for trial of defendants in criminal prosecutions was within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans.
