The defendant was convicted by a jury of armed robbery while masked, G. L. c. 265, § 17, and related crimes.1 The evidence described a robbery of a BJ’s Wholesale Club (BJ’s) in Leominster, by two individuals armed with handguns and wearing masks. They were aided by a third man who was in communication with the first two by means of a walkie-talkie radio.
