—Appeal from a decision of the Unemployment Insurance Appeal *760Board, filed May 1, 1998, which ruled that claimant was ineligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits because he did not have sufficient weeks of covered employment to file a valid original claim.

Claimant, a security guard, was employed by a hospital from July 21, 1990 until January 24, 1997, after which he applied for and received 26 weeks of unemployment insurance benefits.
