Opinion by Justice MOSELEY.

The instant case is on a petition for writ of mandamus, seeking to have us direct the trial court to set aside an order granting a new trial and to reinstate a take-nothing judgment.

There is a theory of remote consequences called the “butterfly effect.” 1 Under this theory, the proponents postulate that the movement of the wings of a butterfly somewhere in Africa could generate minute disturbances of air.
