Plaintiffs allege that they are the owners of an undivided one-half of certain real property situated in the parish of De Soto, as well as the timber and improvements thereon; that they acquired said interest by virtue of a contract made between one of them, W. M. Pollock, and defendant, dated Eebruary 9, 1911, which reads as follows:
