Appellant, who was appointed receiver of the Piedmont and Arlington Life Insurance Company, by the Circuit Court of the United States for the Eastern District of "Virginia, seeks by the bill the forecloseure of a mortgage on real property situated in this State, executed to the company, July 29, 1872, by Sophia L. Davis and- Nicholas Davis, to secure the payment of a bond made by them on the same day for the sum of $1,646.14, payable five years alter date.
