In point of fact, the effect of the keeper’s receipt was to perfect the sheriff’s seizure and • return; and the possession of the money seized by the sheriff was continued through the keeper. The plaintiff alleges substantially that, on or about January 2d, 1878, J. D. Cawthon, then sheriff of the parish of Caddo, *1196did seize and take into his possession the sum of $1809 48, the property of Lisso & Scheen, in execution of a writ of attachment issued in the case of J. B.
