SCOTT BRISTER, Chief Justice.

Equistar Chemicals, L.P. sued Dresser-Rand Company 1 for damages resulting from the failure of two impellers, integral components in two large compressors Dresser sold to Equistar’s predecessor in 1975. 2 The trial court denied Dresser’s motions for summary judgment and judgment notwithstanding the verdict based on limitations. At trial, a jury found Dresser liable (under strict liability, negligence, and breach of warranty theories), assessed damages at more than $8.6 million, and apportioned 80% of fault to Dresser.
