Respondent Michael I. Smith was admitted to the practice *110of law in New York by the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department, on December 12, 1958.

By affidavit dated April 23, 1993, respondent seeks an order pursuant to 22 NYCRR 603.11 permitting him to resign as a member of the Bar of the State of New York. In compliance with 22 NYCRR 603.11, respondent states that this resignation is freely and voluntarily tendered, that he is not being subjected to coercion or duress, and that he is fully aware of the implications of his resignation.
