FACTUAL BACKGROUND
This action began in 1987 as an effort by the plaintiff Connecticut National Bank (hereinafter "CNB") to foreclose on certain property belonging to the defendants Julius and Dora Rytman. Since then, the case has undergone something akin to metastasis. The original defendants filed an answer plus numerous special defenses and counterclaims.
