OPINION

CANTU, Justice.

Appellant was indicted for the offense of murder. The jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced him to nine years’ confinement in the Texas Department of Corrections.

In his first ground of error, appellant contends that the trial court erred in denying his request to “speak in his defense” through an interpreter. When the appellant elected to testify, his attorney informed the court that he would need an interpreter.
