MEMORANDUM OPINION

SIMPSON, District Judge.

This matter is before the court on motion of the defendant, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (“3M”), for summary judgment in this product liability action. The plaintiff, Marilyn E. Triplett, has filed this action on behalf of herself and her deceased husband, James K. Triplett, who died on July 17, 1999 of lung cancer allegedly caused by exposure to asbestos. Triplett worked as a pipefitter from 1976 until 1985 at the Colgate-Palmolive plant in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Triplett’s estate alleges that he used a Model 8500 Nontoxic Particle…
