Appeal from District Court, Angelina County; L. D. Guinn, Judge. Earl Dixon was convicted of murder, and he appeals.

The judgment condemns

appellant to confinement in the penitentiary for a period of 25 years for the offense of murder.

[1] Jim Havard was shot and killed by the appellant, the weapon used being a shotgun loaded .with buckshot. Besides murder, the issues of manslaughter and self-defense were submitted.

The deceased was the husband of appellant’s sister and the father of her six living children. Appellant was 24 years of age, and on the day before the homicide had from his mother received information that the deceased had impeached the chastity of his wife, charging that she submitted her person…
