THOMPSON, District Judge.
This is an appeal by the respondent from a decree awarding the libelant damages in the sum of $1,971.44, with costs, in a suit in personam in admiralty to recover wages under an al*555leged maritime contract of employment as pilot. The assignments of error can be discussed with greater clarity by quoting here the opinion of the learned District Judge in full:
