Appellant, Frances Tally, was indicted under section 987, Hemingway’s Code (section 1257, Code of 1906), and charged with the felonious secretion or concealment of fourteen life exemption certificates and twenty-five teachers’ licenses, which had been lately before feloniously taken, stolen, and carried away from the office of the state superintendent of education of the state of Mississippi, the same being a part of the public records of said office, the indictment charging that appellant “did unlawfully, feloniously and fraudulently conceal the said license to teach in public schools,…
