In 1949 John Milton, a former Hudson automobile dealer in East Oakland, filed the complaint that ultimately resulted in the judgments and orders from which the appeals here involved have been taken. The fourth amended complaint, upon which the cause proceeded to trial, alleges two causes of action, the first for breach of contract, and the second for damages for a violation of the Cartwright Act. (Bus. & Prof. Code, §§ 16700-16758.)

The first cause of action names Hudson Sales Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the corporation that manufactures Hudsons, as the sole defendant. It charges…
