STEPHENSON, Circuit Judge.
On this appeal we are required to determine whether the district court 1 erred in denying without a hearing appellant James Alfred Goodman’s motions under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 and Fed.R.Crim.P. 35 to vacate his pleas of guilty on three separate charges of violating 18 U.S.C. § 2113(b). 2 In his motions Goodman contends that the pleas should be set aside because he was incompetent at the time he entered the pleas.
