Defendant borrowed $26,000 from the Northern Central Trust Company, giving its demand collateral promissory note therefor and pledging therewith twelve first mortgages as security for repayment. Nine of the mortgages were paid off and the loan was reduced accordingly. The three remaining mortgages were foreclosed on default and the properties bound thereby were bought in and are retained by plaintiff.
