Defendant Travis Gay was convicted of aggravated assault, pos*81session of a firearm during the commission of a crime and discharging a firearm on or near a highway. He appeals from the denial of his motion for new trial. We affirm.

Construed so as to support the verdict, the evidence adduced at trial shows the following. On May 21, 1989, at about 2:00 p.m. the 88-year-old victim, Mr. John Wall, was traveling in a wooded area along Highway 135 near Naylor, Georgia, in Lowndes County.
