In fact, this irrepressible petitioner made his record before he left the stand. The court had several sound reasons to have immediately denied his motion to postpone trial when the court tried to cut him off. Later, without being cut off, petitioner made his record in writing. In two memos to the court, he repeated his reasons to have asked for postponement and, for the first time after trial, asked for a new lawyer.
