*856 ¶ 1 Following a jury trial, defendant, Charles J. Brown, was convicted of two counts of home invasion ( 720 ILCS 5/12-11(a)(3) (West 2010) ) and sentenced to two concurrent 35-year prison terms. On direct appeal, this court vacated one of defendant's convictions and sentences pursuant to the one-act, one-crime doctrine but otherwise affirmed the trial court's judgment. People v.
